World champion Alexandra Kosteniuk (2523) and Almira Skripchenko (2456) played against 25 Belgian players in a tandem simultan event. It’s not easy to play when you make only every second move. Anyway, they had a good result 23-1-1, losing the only game against Dirk Demarcke (2205) in a sharp Sicilian position.
The event was organised (and I have to say very well organised) by Computer Profile. They invited children and representatives of partner companies – all chess lovers so the pleasant atmosphere was guaranteed.
After the games they signed Alexandra’s new book the Diary of a Chess Queen.
Here is the only game they lost against Dirk Demarcke (2205):
